Now that school's back in session, it's a perfect time to come in and see artifacts highlighting schools in Junction City at the Mary E Pitney House Museum (4th & Holly). You'll find yearbooks (including Mary Pitney's where she was the art editor) and several from other decades, along with a wonderful photo album of related photos.
But wait - there's more!
Our Resource Room has almost every High School Yearbook since 1910, and upstairs you'll find a classroom, complete with early desks, objects, and a map of the entire area showing the historic location of over 20 local Junction City Schools.

A special display of the history of the Scandinavian Festival with albums of photos, newspaper articles, and programs that cover 3 decades, beginning with with the very first Scandinavian Festival in 1961.
Grand Re-Opening of the Lee House Historic Museum
August 13, 2026
​​After many years of being closed, the Lee House Historic Museum opened during all four days of the Scandinavian Festival beginning with a brief opening ceremony on Thursday, August 13. A parade of enthusiastic visitors explored the museum, including both new and old friends. The museum is now open the same days as the Pitney House, making it easy for people to explore all aspects of Junction City's history.
